Bitter and dry, this is a very tasty ‘grown up cocktail’ which is easy to make, as you don’t need any cocktail equipment, just the ingredients, a glass and ice. The Negroni was firstly made at The Casoni Bar (later named Giacosa) in Florence, Italy by a bartender named Fosco Scarselli who made it based on a request by a regular customer of the bar called Count Camillo Negroni. This dude wanted an Americano ‘with a bit more of a kick’ so Fosco answered his request by adding Gin to the drink. The drink became popular as customers began to ask for ‘one of Count Negroni’s drinks’ and with time the drink became known as a Negroni.
